  • Aerial Adventure Combo

    Aerial Adventure Course participants will navigate 12 challenges, all 50 feet in the air. Participants will exit the course by their choice of a slow belayed decent or our free fall device for the ultimate rush. The Aerial Adventure Course is located 15 minutes from The Greenbrier.

    Casual attire and closed-toed shoes are required to enjoy this excursion.

  • Bunker Tour

    The declassified Bunker at The Greenbrier is a must-see experience that takes you behind the scenes and walks you through a fascinating period in the resort's history. Carved deep into the mountainside beneath the hotel’s West Virginia Wing is an emergency Cold War fallout shelter. Once a top-secret U.S. government relocation facility for Congress, The Bunker is now open to anyone interested in reliving a legendary piece of The Greenbrier history. Bunker Tours provide a unique and in-depth look behind the hidden doors to explore an aspect of The Greenbrier that no other resort can claim.

    No cameras, electronic equipment or cell phones are permitted. Comfortable shoes are recommended.

  • Croquet

    Make your way to the meticulously groomed lawns for a friendly game of croquet! Whether you’re seeking leisure or learning, a match on The Greenbrier’s lush lawns is a delightful way to spend a sunny afternoon.

  • Falconry

    The ancient sport of falconry is both fascinating and exciting for all ages! You will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with trained hawks and falcons as well as learn the history behind this sport of kings, which has been performed for over 4,000 years. The falcons are located less than 5 minutes from The Greenbrier.

  • Fly Fishing

    Fishing opportunities abound at The Greenbrier. Howard’s Creek flows right through the heart of the resort and is a trophy fly fishing trout stream. Whatever your preferred species to fish — trout or the fish of 10,000 casts, the muskellunge, you’ll find it here. If you are not sure what fish you’re hoping to find, one of the expert guides can help you. Get ready to cast your line!

    We recommend that guests bring a pair of socks, a hat and polarized sunglasses.

  • Golf

    From Hogan to Palmer and Woods to Mickelson, most of golf’s greatest players have walked the lush fairways at The Greenbrier. Guests will enjoy 18 holes of golf on the storied Old White or The Meadows course.

  • Jeep Adventures

    Get behind the wheel of a specially equipped Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and explore the mountains of West Virginia. Highly trained Off-Road Adventure guides will accompany and instruct guests on advanced driving techniques necessary to traverse The Greenbrier's private 11,000-acre mountain preserve. The terrain will vary from modest unpaved roads to some of the most extreme on the East Coast. The thirty-mile course has rocks, ruts, creek crossings, steep hills, gulleys and mud pits.

    Casual attire and sneakers are recommended.

  • Mountaineer Experience

    Experience the feel of traditional archery with experienced instructors and permanent facilities. Customary equipment includes traditional recurve bows and arrows.

    In addition to archery, guests can try their skills with high-powered air rifles. Participants will have the opportunity to shoot at a wide variety of kinetic air rifle targets.

    Guests will then learn the skill of tomahawk throwing. Under the instruction of an experienced guide, guests will learn the proper technique to stick the tomahawk in a wood target. Guests can test their abilities at different range stations and varying targets, yardage and angles. The archery course is located less than 10 minutes from The Greenbrier.

    Casual attire and sneakers are recommended.

  • ORV Off Road Experience

    Get behind the wheel of the most extreme ORV (off-road vehicle) on the planet and explore the majestic mountains of West Virginia for a unique experience. Highly trained guides will lead and instruct you in a specialized Polaris RZR through The Greenbrier's private 11,000-acre mountain preserve. The terrain will vary from modest unpaved roads to some of the most extreme on the East Coast. The terrain has rocks, ruts, creek crossings and steep hills.

    Resort casual outdoor attire is recommended. Closed toe shoe or boots are required. Helmets and eye protection will be supplied and are required for drivers and passengers.

    There is a very good chance you may get some mountain mud on you!

  • Pickleball

    Experience the fun of pickleball! A fast-paced game that serves up plenty of excitement for all ages and abilities, combining elements of tennis, table tennis, and badminton. The rules are easy to learn, and The Greenbrier professionals are always available to offer tips for players of all levels.

  • Rails to Trails Ride

    Biking through the scenic Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia is one of the fastest-growing recreational activities at The Greenbrier. Ride on The Greenbrier's many trails and enjoy the magnificent mountain landscape while taking part in healthy, aerobic recreation.

    Bikes will be provided. Casual attire and closed-toed shows are recommended.

  • Scavenger Hunt

    A fusion of group thinking and interactive challenges in a race across, through, and around The Greenbrier using participant’s smart phones makes this scavenger hunt like no other scavenger hunt you have every participated in. Once the race starts, teams will use their skills and any means necessary to gain the highest number of points as you decode the history of The Greenbrier and are declared the champion. Using a custom smart phone app, teams can monitor one another’s progress and watch the live leaderboard.

    Resort casual attire and comfortable shoes are recommended.

  • Slingshot

    Experience a drive unlike anything you’ve imagined with a scenic trip through the winding hills and valleys of West Virginia in a Polaris Slingshot. Explore the Greenbrier Valley and beyond, taking in breathtaking views in an area bathed in history and tradition, all while being boosted with adrenaline behind the wheel of these unique machines.

    These 3-wheeled open-air roadsters are street legal and pack 173 horsepower into a lightweight design for the ultimate thrill ride. Feel the power and precision of these amazing vehicles as you traverse various elevations and breathe in the fresh air of the West Virginia countryside.

    The driver and all passengers are required to wear a helmet, eye protection, long sleeve shirt, gloves, long pants and over-the ankle-boots.

    The sporting clays course was designed by Justin Jones and John Higgins of the British School of Shooting, and challenges shooters of all skill levels. Each group is guided by a professional trap attendant to ensure that each shooter has a safe and enjoyable experience while shooting sporting clays at the Gun Club.
